Ebru is a classical pianist and a composer residing and teaching piano and music theory in Newton, MA. She is an alumni of Berklee College of Music B.M. Piano & Composition; Boston MA and Bilkent University Piano Conservatory; Turkey B.M. in Piano Performance. She studied classical piano since age 5 and extended her studies in Contemporary Composition & Jazz Piano at Berklee College of Music graduating with high honors. She was awarded “Excellence in Composition” Award at Berklee College of music and her String Quartet was performed by Ashkenazy String Quartet at Berklee Performance Center. Her Piano Sonata “Scenes from Istanbul” was selected and performed by Women Musicians Network Berklee Performance Center, a highly competetive musical event at Berklee College of Music.
Ebru has attended and also holds certificates in Recording Engineering and Music Production. She is fluent with various music notation and music editing softwares.
Ebru has been teaching piano lessons over 20+ years. She has an extensive experience in piano instruction integrating different elements of music such as sight-reading, ear training, music theory, style specific dynamics/interpretation, specific piano technique exercises & recital / college audition preperation into her sessions. She welcomes students of all ages and all levels as well as teaching special needs children.
